Preregister Today for Read for the Record 2027!
September 15, 2026
On February 25, 2027, Jumpstart’s Read for the Record unites millions of adults and children to read the same book on the same day, activating a worldwide community to uplift the critical importance of early literacy.
The Early Learning Hub of Linn, Benton & Lincoln Counties would like to support our partners in Read for the Record this year! We will send you this year’s book to read (English and Spanish versions available) to your class or care group! If your organization would like to participate in Read for the Record Day, please sign up at https://forms.gle/ bEqR7p6rvi4gqSyPA.
This year’s book selection is "Brave Like a Lion!" How a Puppeteer Found Her Voice by Emmy-winning Sesame Street puppeteer Megan Piphus, illustrated by Niña Mata. Drawn from Megan’s own childhood — she’s the first full-time Black woman puppeteer on Sesame Street — it’s the story of a shy girl who finds her voice. This is an inspirational message about courage, confidence, and finding your voice that resonates far beyond the page.
Jumpstart’s Read for the Record is the world’s largest shared reading experience and celebrates and supports children’s early language and social-emotional development. The event – a day of celebration and fun – builds an intergenerational community through reading and raises awareness about the critical importance of early literacy and access to inclusive literature that fosters a sense of belonging and connection by reflecting children’s own experiences as well as showing the experiences of others.
