National Hispanic Heritage Month
Each year, the United States observes National Hispanic Heritage Month from September 15 to October 15, by celebrating the histories, cultures, and contributions of those tracing their roots to Spain, Mexico, Central America, South America, and the Spanish-speaking nations of the Caribbean. This year's theme is "Latinos: Driving Prosperity, Power, and Progress in America". Visit the
United States Department of State Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs website to find lesson plans, videos, photos, exhibits, articles, and PowerPoint slides to be used at American Spaces to recognize the achievements of the Hispanic community in the United States and their role in U.S. history.
