The Coast to the Cascades Community Wellness Network along with Samaritan Health Services and community partners will address the growing epidemic of childhood obesity in (Oregon's) Linn, Benton and Lincoln counties. Together we will identify and explore the various social determinants effecting the well-being of children as we strive to "untangle the web of childhood obesity".  The Summit will be held on Wednesday, April 20, 2016, from 9-3:30pm at Samaritan Lebanon Community Hospital, Health Care & Training Center, 525 N. Santiam Highway, Lebanon, Oregon.

Keynote speakers for the Summit include Dr. David C. Nieman, of Appalachian State University, and Debra L. Kibbe, of the Georgia Health Policy Center.  As we strive to address the multi-faceted determinants effecting childhood obesity, multiple breakout sessions will be provided with a broad spectrum of approaches. Sessions will include speakers specializing in chronic disease management, mental health, school and physical environment, access to food, school policy, and overall health. Attendees will gain valuable insight from the Summit, along with networking opportunities with other key stakeholders engaged in the ongoing discussion concerning childhood obesity prevention in our region. Lunch is provided, and seating is limited to this FREE event! Register now, and pass this information along.
