The Early Learning Hub of Linn, Benton & Lincoln Counties would like to help you Read for the Record this year. We will send you this year’s book - Nigel and the Moon by Antwan Eady and illustrated by Gracey Zhang - to read to your class or care group.
In 2021, amid pandemic restrictions and delays, the Early Learning Hub provided books to 40 agencies that helped almost 1,000 children Read for the Record. This year we hope to help many people participate!
Book orders have begun. If your organization would like to participate this fall, please contact us now at elhub@linnbenton.edu.
Jumpstart's 2022 Read for the Record campaign selection is Nigel and the Moon, written by Antwan Eady and illustrated by Gracey Zhang. It is available in English and Spanish.
Every year, Jumpstart works with early education experts and their publishing partner to create a paperback special edition of the campaign book. This special edition copy is designed to help deepen children’s understanding of the book and offers activity guides, resources, vocabulary words, comprehension questions and tips for reading with young children.
Jumpstart’s Read for the Record is a global movement to raise awareness around the critical importance of early literacy and increase access to high- quality children’s books.
On Read for the Record Day, millions of people worldwide come together to read Jumpstart’s special edition campaign book, celebrate early literacy, and expand the at-home libraries of children from underserved communities.
