Mary McKay

Linn Benton Lincoln Educaton Service District

Mary McKay is the Superintendent of Linn Benton Lincoln Education Service District (LBL ESD). She has over 30 years’ experience in public school and early intervention settings. Much of her experience is in overseeing programs that provide regional services within the Oregon Education Service District structure. Mary began her career as a speech/language pathologist (SLP) serving children birth to 21 years old in a variety of educational settings. Over the course of her career, she has also been an administrator in Early Intervention/Early Child Special Education Programs, Special Education Programs and Human Resources.

Mary has a special interest in early learning. One of her first assignments as an SLP was in a preschool classroom. She quickly realized that social, emotional and educational growth is maximized when appropriate support systems are in place for young children and their families.

Mary currently serves on the Kids and Company of Linn County (Head Start) Board of Directors, the Oregon Teachers Standards and Practices Commission and the Oregon Fair Dismissals Appeals Board.

Mary has a Bachelor of Science degree from Arizona State University and a Master of Science degree from University of Oregon. She has lived in Oregon for over 20 years and enjoys spending time with her family, traveling, and reading.
