We are happy to pass along this possible opportunity to engage an Encore Fellow to support a high-priority project (or projects) for your organization. Intel will be supporting 250 of these fellowships for their former employees, starting this summer.
An Encore Fellow spends 1,000 hours (half time for a year, full time for six months, etc ) in the fellowship and receives a $25,000 stipend, paid for by Intel as a retirement benefit. The Intel Fellows candidates represent a broad range of skills and levels in the company (typically from Executive Assistants to software engineers to Vice Presidents). See the program description for examples of fellowships and the match process for more information.
While this resource is free for the “work host” organization, the host must show a strong commitment to partnering with/supervising the Encore Fellow to fully leverage the talents of these individuals. (If the host chooses to classify the Fellow as an employee, the host agency is also responsible for all taxes and benefits required.) All nonprofits, foundations, educational institutions and government agencies in Oregon and SW Washington are eligible to serve as work hosts. Fellows are not positioned to be replacements for regular staff positions but instead work on high-priority infrastructure projects, new program development, etc. Hosts may apply for and deploy more than one Fellow at a time. How many you will get depends on whether a quality match can be made with each position.
