Jim Golden is currently in his 31st year as a professional educator. He has been a science, special education and health teacher. He has also served as a vice principal, special programs director, high school principal and superintendent. Jim is involved in State level education leadership through the Confederation of School Administrators and is currently the president elect for the superintendent leadership group.
Jim is interested in early learning, wellness and helping schools better serve all students that come through their doors. He believes that we have a responsibility to serve all students who show up at our schools and he fully understands the moral imperative for us to effectively deal with issues surrounding educational equity. Jim also has an interest in improving instructional delivery systems and in partnering with other public and private entities to leverage limited resources to improve educational outcomes for all children.
Jim has been married for 31 years and has two grown sons...a Duck and a Beaver! He and his wife are both graduates of Oregon State and that was one of the reasons that they wanted to return to Albany. Jim loves whitewater rafting, skiing, hiking and travel with his family
